The Fatehsinh Mahal( New Palace) is named after Fatehsinh III Bhosle. It is also known as “Fatehsinh Mahal” and “Bella Vista”.
The New Palace was personally planned by Fatehsinh III at a cost of Rs 4,63,722. He died at a very young age and was not able to complete it. His wife Tarabai Ranisaheb later completed her husband’s dream Palace in 1925. The New Palace is a fine specimen of combined “Doric” and “Corinthian” architecture which has a porch and a tower with a clock facing all four sides. Behind the Palace there are outhouses and bungalows once used by the Royal Family.
The New Palace and the surrounding buildings are all fitted with modern amenities. The plan of the New Palace was devised by Fatehsinh III who was probably inspired by his observation on his European tour. In front of the New Palace a vast expansion of a beautifully leveled ground was made and was called Fatehsinh Cricket Ground.

Fatehsinh III was a great collector of weapons and arms. He made the armoury museum, a one man collection which is biggest in Asia. Housed on the first floor of the New Palace, the museum has the finest collection of ancient weapons treasured in India and The East. The majority of these date from old Maratha times and many of them are now exceedingly scarce and of priceless value.At present, the armoury museum is housed on the first floor of the New Palace, in Akkalkot .
